WordPress.com vs WordPress.org – which is this?
There is a lot of understandable confusion about “Who is WordPress?” and are they hosting this site? This website is a stand-alone installation of the open-source WordPress CMS, downloaded from WordPress.org. It is hosted on a private server that Kidney Kitchen arranged specially for it.
WordPress.com, on the other hand, is an on-line blogging platform run by the WordPress organization where you can set up a free or paid website. They offer free hosting plus lots of other paid services. This is not that. We have a lot of special plugins and custom functionality built into this site that is not available on WordPress.com.
