About Kidney Kitchen
Since its launch in 2019, the American Kidney Fund’s (AKF) Kidney Kitchen® has been supported by a multidisciplinary team of culinary and nutrition experts. Through partnerships with renal dietitians, culinary professionals, health care organizations and cookbook authors, AKF continues to grow its collection of 350+ kidney-friendly recipes on a regular basis.
Our recipe developers are culinary professionals and registered renal dietitians who use their creativity to create kidney-friendly recipes for every stage of kidney disease, from cuisines all over the world.
Our renal dietitians review all of Kidney Kitchen’s nutrition education information to make sure it aligns with evidence-based dietetics practice and current nutrition guidelines. They also review the nutritional content of each recipe to make sure it is kidney-friendly.
Our recipe testers test each recipe to make sure the instructions are easy to follow for every home cook, no matter their skill level. They provide us with valuable feedback to improve recipes so what winds up on your plate or in your glass tastes great.
