Watermelon Cooler
This terrific hydrating drink was developed by a pilates and yoga instructor for her clients. It’s designed to maintain electrolyte balance on hot days when sweat can deplete you of salt and you feel wilted and sluggish.
Makes
Serving size
Ingredients
1 grapefruit, small
2 cups watermelon, cubed
8 ice cubes
1½ cups water
pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon honey
Instructions
- Peel the grapefruit and maintain the white membrane. Separate into segments.
- Process all the ingredients, except the honey, in the blender.
- Add honey and process for another 15 seconds. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
Cooking Tip
Buy whole watermelon and cut up and store in a sealed container refrigerated. The fruit will remain crunchy for 3-4 days, and you can alternate from snacking plain, adding to summer salads and making this delicious cooler!
