Spiced Pepitas
The satisfying intense flavor of these spiced shelled pumpkin seeds, or pepitas, is the perfect example of ‘a little going a long way’. You won’t need too much to satisfy your hunger and they are very portable for a healthy snack on the go!

1½ tablespoons butter, unsalted
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cumin seed, grounded
1½ cups pepitas
Instructions
- Combine butter, sugar and spice in a large skillet.
- Heat the skillet on low heat to melt the butter and mix it well with the sugar and cumin.
- Add the pepitas, and stir to coat evenly, about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool.
- Serve as a snack alone or pair each serving with a piece of fruit or cheese.
Cooking Tip
Once you make a batch, store them in tightly sealed jar. You can use it as a topping for hot breakfast cereal, yogurt or even ice cream.
