Papaya Smoothie
Almost any fruit can be turned into a smoothie. This papaya version has a subtle flavor and the oat milk works just as well as regular milk. The addition of a bit of lime and ginger enhances flavor and enjoyment.
Makes
Serving size
Ingredients
3-ounces papaya, cut in small pieces
½ cup unsweetened almond milk or oat milk
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
2 tablespoons lime juice
2 ice cubes
Instructions
- Combine the papaya, milk, honey, ginger and lime in the blender.
- Process on medium speed for 15 seconds.
- Add the ice cubes
- Process on high speed about 30 seconds to become smooth; longer if necessary.
- Pour into glasses and enjoy!
Cooking Tip
Peeling ginger to grate it can be difficult. An alternative way to remove the skin is to scrape it with the edge of a teaspoon; the skin will peel right off.
