Mulled Apple Cider

Winter evenings can be greatly enhanced with a warm beverage.  Great for entertaining or just on your own.

4 cups apple cider

2 sticks cinnamon

3 cloves

5 allspice

2 cardamom pods, crushed

Instructions

  1. Heat the cider in a medium saucepan to boil. Reduce heat to simmer.
  2. Add the spices.
  3. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes to infuse the spices into the cider.
  4. Serve in mugs and enjoy.

Use some cheesecloth to suspend the spices in the pot of cider and remove and let dry out. You can then reuse the spices in a new cheesecloth the next time you want to make spiced cider.
