Meatloaf
Meatloaf for dinner! This recipe is easy and filled with sage, mushrooms, and aromatic sage.

Ingredients for Loaf
¼ cup heavy cream
¾ cup water
⅔ cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs
2 tablespoons onions, diced
½ cup fresh shiitake mushrooms, diced (or regular no salt added canned mushrooms)
1 teaspoon ground sage
1 teaspoon dry mustard
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 ½ pounds ground beef, 80%
Ingredients for Topping
¼ cup no salt ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Mix the cream and water together then pour the breadcrumbs into the cream-water and let stand until liquid is absorbed.
- Place into a large bowl and add all remaining loaf ingredients.
- Mix well and place into a loaf pan.
- Bake for 30 minutes then drain excess fat into the empty mushrooms can (if used).
- Bake for another 30 to 40 minutes or until internal meat temperature reads 145°F.
- While that is baking, mix all the topping ingredients together.
- When meat is done, remove from the oven and pour the sauce over top.
- Return to the oven for 3 to 5 minutes or until sauce is hot.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 3 minutes before cutting.
- Cut into 8 servings of 3-ounce each.
Cooking Tip
Use lean ground beef (90/10) to lower the amount of saturated fat.
