Ingredients

1 ½ cups frozen green beans, thawed (canned beans will increase sodium content)

Nonfat cooking spray

1 small yellow onion, sliced

1 clove garlic, minced

4 tablespoons imitation bacon bits

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Steam green beans until they are tender, about 3 minutes.
  2. While the beans are being steamed, spray a large skillet with cooking spray and sauté the onions and garlic.
  3. Stir in green beans, bacon bits, and cayenne pepper. Heat through.
  4. Serve warm.

Fresh green beans will also work for this quick dish
