Ginger Apple Bites

Like a tiny and moist muffin—a slightly sweet and bite-sized treat.

Serving size

1 apple bite

Ingredients

1-ounce dried apples

3-ounces unsweetened, plain applesauce

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces

½ cup flour or gluten free flour

¾ teaspoon dried ginger

¾ teaspoon cinnamon

½ teaspoon vanilla

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

⅛ teaspoon ground allspice

Pinch of coarse salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Place dried apples into a food processor and pulse to small chunks.
  3. Add all remaining ingredients and gently pulse until fully combined. Scrape the sides frequently.
  4. Move to a bowl and let rest 5 minutes for flour to absorb the moisture.
  5. Scoop 1 tablespoon each and place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake 10 to 15 minutes on the top rack, until cookies appear dry and are firm to the touch.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the pan.

Cooking Tip

The Bare® brand of dried apples were used for this recipe, however any dried apples can be used!
