Garlic Bread

Turn your simple French bread into garlic bread with these easy steps.

Serving size

⅛ loaf

Ingredients

3 tablespoons vegetable oil 

4 cloves garlic, minced 

2 teaspoons paprika 

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper 

1 teaspoon lemon juice 

2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese 

¾ cup mayonnaise 

1 loaf (1 pound) French bread 

1 teaspoon Italian herbs 

Instructions

  1. Pour oil into a small bowl. Add garlic to oil and let stand overnight.  
  2. The next day, strain garlic from oil and discard garlic.  
  3. To the oil, add paprika, cayenne, lemon juice and parmesan. Mix well. Stir in mayonnaise.  
  4. Slice loaf of bread in half lengthwise. 
  5. Spread each half generously with garlic spread.  
  6. Place both halves under the broiler (or set oven to 500°F) and broil until golden brown. Serve hot. 

Cooking Tip

Add a tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley to the garlic spread for extra flavor.
