1 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons margarine
⅓ cup liquid non-dairy creamer
⅓ cup water

6-ounce 90% lean ground beef
½ teaspoon sage
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons margarine
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup liquid non-dairy creamer

Instructions for Biscuits
- Preheat oven to 450°F.
- Combine flour and baking powder in a bowl.
- Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse meal.
- Add creamer and water, mixing to form a dough. Knead the dough on a floured surface 10 times.
- Roll out dough and cut into 8 biscuits.
- Place on greased baking sheet and bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.
Instructions for Gravy and Assembly
- Mix ground beef with all spices in a bowl.
- Brown beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt margarine over low heat.
- In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with ¼ cup of creamer until smooth. Add remaining creamer and stir until smooth.
- Add to margarine in skillet and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles.
- Add beef and heat thoroughly. Serve gravy over biscuits.
Cooking Tip
To save time, biscuit dough can be prepared the night before.
