Ingredients

1-pound lean ground beef

1 cup onion, chopped

½ cup green bell pepper, chopped

6 ounce no-salt tomato paste

2 tablespoons chili powder

½ teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

1-quart water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef, then drain fat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper.
  3. Cook until onion is transparent.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1.5 hours.
  5. Before serving, measure chili and add additional water to make 5 cups.
  6. Heat through.

Cooking Tip

Add less chili powder to reduce the heat.
