Cajun Pork Chops

These pork chops are smothered in onions and a savory spice mix. Easy to make with your favorite side dish.

Ingredients

Ingredients for Seasoning Mix 

¼ teaspoon paprika 

¼ teaspoon garlic powder 

¼ teaspoon thyme 

¼ teaspoon dry mustard 

¼ teaspoon ground sage 

¼ teaspoon ground cumin 

⅛ teaspoon pepper 

 

Ingredient for Pork Chop 

2 tablespoons oil 

1-pound boneless (4 ounces each) pork chops, cut ½ inch thick 

1 small red onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. 
  2. Mix all seasonings together and rub each side of the pork chops with the seasoning mix. 
  3. Lay 4 pieces of aluminum foil on the counter and place ½ tablespoon of oil on each foil. 
  4. Set the pork chop on top of the oil. 
  5. Slice 2 full, round slices from the center of the onion, then cut each slice in half. 
  6. Place one of the halves on top of a pork chop. Repeat with remaining. 
  7. Seal the foil completely and place on a baking sheet. 
  8. Bake for 15 minutes. Insert a thermometer through the foil, into the center of the pork chop and confirm it is at least 145°F. 
  9. When done, remove from the oven and let rest 5 minutes before opening. 
  10. Serve with a desired side. 

Cooking Tip

Serve with a side salad to provide freshness.
