Serving size

5-6 shrimp

Ingredients

1 pound raw, extra-large shrimp, peeled and deveined

¼ cup unsalted butter

1 tablespoon lemon juice

2 tablespoons red onion, minced

1 clove of garlic, minced

¼ teaspoon ground white pepper

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to high broil (500°F).
  2. Place shrimp in a bowl and set aside.

  5. Pour over shrimp and toss to evenly coat.
  6. Place a piece of aluminum foil on a baking sheet and lay shrimp out in one layer, do not overlap.
  7. Broil for 5 minutes. Remove from oven, flip, and broil for 5 minutes more.
  8. Turn off the oven and let stand for 2 minutes. If desired, check that the internal temperature of the shrimp has reached 165°F.
  9. Serve 5 to 6 shrimp per person with lemon slices.

Cooking Tip

Removing moisture from the outside of the shrimp through drying helps to ensure a nice golden crust develops while cooking. It also adds a delicious caramelized flavor.
