Apple Raisin Strudel
Quick and easy. Similar to an apple pie but it is quicker, easier and even better!
Makes
Serving size
Ingredients
1 roll Geefree® gluten free frozen puff pastry, thawed (keep cold)
10 ½ ounces apple pie filling (half of a 21 ounce can)
¼ cup raisins
2 teaspoons almond milk (or other nondairy milk)
¼ teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon coarse or granulated sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Gently unroll the thawed pastry.
- On the lower half, spread the pie filling.
- Sprinkle the raisins over the pie filling.
- Lightly wet the edges of the bottom half of the pastry and carefully fold the top over the bottom.
- Using a fork, gently crimp the edges closed. The pastry will tear easily so use a light touch. If any pastry does tear, lightly moisten your finger, and carefully repair.
- Whisk the nondairy milk and honey together, then lightly brush over the top of the pastry.
- Sprinkle with sugar and bake on top rack for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool 5 to 10 minutes.
- Cut into 6 portions (about every 1 ½ inches). Serve warm or cold.
Cooking Tip
Use remaining pie filling for other desserts like crepes.
