Is city water ok to drink?

Yes, city tap water is safe to drink. Water that goes through a water treatment plant has been treated to remove any potential pathogens (harmful microbes that could cause serious diseases) and thus safe to drink. If living with a transplant and taking immunosuppressant medications city tap water is safe to drink. However, water from a well, spring, or any other untreated (not the same as filtered) is not considered safe and could potentially contain harmful pathogens.
