In a late stage CKD patient (GFR 12), does vinegar make acidosis worse?

Choosing a more plant based eating pattern and water as your choice of beverage along with taking the medications your doctor prescribed is the best way to help limit metabolic acidosis caused by kidney disease. Focus on vegetables, fruits, beans, whole grains along with some skinless poultry and fish while avoiding/limiting red meat: beef, pork, lamb, venison are helpful ways to lower the acidosis from kidney diseases via nutrition. Vinegar in moderation, like a salad dressing or marinade will not make acidosis worse.
