The amount of protein you need is different for everyone. In order to figure out how much protein is right for you, we have to do some math. The protein recommendation for CKD stage 3 is 0.55-0.6 grams of protein per day per kilogram body weight if you do not have diabetes. If you do have diabetes, the recommendation is 0.8-0.9 grams of protein per day per kilogram body weight. There are some other factors that could change how much protein is right for you, so it would be best to ask a renal dietitian to double check. Hopefully this gives you some place to start!
