How long does it take to raise your phosphorus if you’re not taking any binders?

I’m not sure if you’ve been prescribed binders or not. If they’ve been prescribed, I highly recommend taking them with meals as prescribed. If there are side effects or issues with affordability, please speak with your team as there are a variety binder choices and assistance programs for several of them. Phosphorus can rise quickly in those that do not take binders as prescribed and consume a diet high in added phosphorus, but on the flip side, there are patients that may not ever need to be prescribed binders.

There are many factors that contribute to phosphorus levels including the type of phosphorus. I recommend checking out the phosphorus sources as plant based phosphorus is far less bioavailable than that from processed foods (such as dark soda) meaning it will be less absorbed by the body and impact blood levels far less.
