Onion Steak
This mouthwatering steak is juicy and packed with flavor from onions, thyme, and garlic.

Ingredients
1 ½ pounds round steak (¾-inch thick)
¼ cup flour
⅛ teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
¼ teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
3 medium onions, sliced
Instructions
- Cut steak into 8 equal servings.
- Combine flour and pepper and pound into meat.
- Heat oil in a skillet on medium high heat. Brown meat on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Combine water, vinegar, garlic, bay leaf and thyme in the skillet. Bring to a boil.
- Place meat into this mixture and cover with sliced onions.
- Cover and simmer for 1 hour.
Cooking Tip
The steak can be cooked in a skillet, grill, or cast-iron pan.
