Chili con Carne

Ingredients

1-pound lean ground beef

1 cup onion, chopped

½ cup green bell pepper, chopped

6 ounce no-salt tomato paste

2 tablespoons chili powder

½ teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon paprika

1-quart water

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, and then drain the fat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper to the large pot with ground beef.
  3. Cook until the onion is transparent.
  4. Add remaining ingredients, stir, and simmer uncovered for 1.5 hours.
  5. Before serving, measure the chili and add additional water to make 5 cups.
  6. Heat through.

Cooking Tip

Add less chili powder to reduce the heat.
