This terrific hydrating drink was developed by a pilates and yoga instructor for her clients. It’s designed to maintain electrolyte balance on hot days when sweat can deplete you of salt and you feel wilted and sluggish.
1 grapefruit, small
2 cups watermelon chunks
8 ice cubes
1-1/2 cups water
pinch sea salt
1 teaspoon honey
Makes: 3 Serving size: 8-ounce glass
- Peel the grapefruit and maintain the white membrane. Separate into segments.
- Dice the watermelon.
- Process all the ingredients, except the sweetener, in a blender.
- Add honey, process for 15 seconds more. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
