Celebration Meringue Cookies
Satisfy your sweet tooth and engage your inner pastry chef with this meringue cookie recipe. These cookies make a perfect housewarming gift for parties or fun baking activity with your kids or friends!
2 egg whites, room temperature
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
A pinch of salt
1-1½ teaspoon champagne extract, or extract of choice
½ cup sugar
Makes: 24 Serving size: 1 cookie
- Preheat oven to 225°F. Line baking sheet with parchment.
- In a bowl, beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar, salt, and extract and beat until soft peaks form. Continue mixing and add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, until dissolved and stiff peaks form.
- Pipe onto baking sheet.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then turn oven off. Let stand in oven for 1 hour. DO NOT open the oven door.
- Cool leftovers at room temperature and stored in an airtight container.
