Celebration Meringue Cookies
Satisfy your sweet tooth and engage your inner pastry chef with this meringue cookie recipe. These cookies make a perfect housewarming gift for parties or fun baking activity with your kids or friends!
2 egg whites, room temperature
¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
½ cup sugar
1-1 ½ teaspoon champagne extract, or extract of choice
Makes: 24 Serving size: 1 cookie
1. Preheat oven to 225 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment.
2. In a bowl, beat egg whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar, salt and beat until soft peaks form. Continue mixing and add sugar, a tablespoon at a time, until dissolved and stiff peaks form.
3. Pipe onto baking sheet.
4. Bakes 45 minutes, then turn oven off. Let stand in oven for 1 hour. DO NOT open door.
5. Store in airtight container.
